Managing Schools
Overview
The Governing body of a school expends significant resources (both human & material) in establishing an institution of learning. From ideation till the institute comes into physical existence, significant effort and planning is necessary in identifying and bringing together the various constituents that make a good institute. These include, identification of location, preparation of vision & philosophy, layout and structural design, construction, hiring of administrators, teachers and support staff, affiliation and accreditation, curriculum selection and/ or design, marketing and positioning, formulation of policies and practices, procedures and code of conduct, etc.
Even after all the ingredients of a successful school have been brought together with care, love and dedication; consistent efforts are required to assess, upgrade and realign practices, skill up-gradation of teachers, curriculum evaluation, etc. In the 21st century, good schools are constantly striving to remove systemic inefficiencies.
Venturelab specializes in managing schools on behalf of both public and private operators. We provide a wide range of services customized to the needs of the school. Our solutions are designed to enhance the profile and practices of school and to help adopt teaching-learning practices aligned to the school’s vision and philosophy.
Vision
School Education is magical. It fascinates, transforms lives and sculpts futures. It comes in various shapes and forms, daring us — at Venturelab, to continually raise the bar.
We know that K-12 education can be better, but many people don’t know what better looks like. We recognize that for innovations to spread, educators and parents, as well as business and community leaders, must first see and understand the changes and opportunities.
Our vision is of a new world of learning, a place where student and parents, teachers and administrators, policy makers and the people they serve are all empowered to change education for the better; a place where schools provide rigorous project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and access to new technology; a place where innovation is the rule, not the exception; a place where students become lifelong learners and develop 21st-century skills, especially three fundamental skills:
- how to find information
- how to assess the quality of information
- how to creatively and effectively use information to accomplish a goal
A school planned by Venturelab is a place of inspiration and aspiration based on the urgent belief that improving education is the key to the survival of the human race. We provide not just the vision for this new world of learning but the real-world information and community connections to make it a reality. We enable the creation of a better future across the globe by providing transformational and innovative solutions for the entire education continuum of K-12.
Methodology
We can set up joint ventures and manage schools that will raise standards, improve educational outcomes, professionalize teacher CPD, and deliver value for money. Increased business efficiency enables schools to focus on student learning. Our management enables education systems to achieve greater ROI on resources.
Our Company is dedicated to improving the K-12 learning process by documenting, disseminating, and advocating innovative, replicable, and evidence-based strategies that prepare students to thrive in their future education, careers, and adult lives.
We pursue our mission through four primary sets of activities:
- Producing social media to inspire, inform and accelerate positive change in schools and districts by shining a spotlight on evidence-based strategies that improve learning and engagement for students. We strive to bring holistic learning experiences by merging pedagogical understanding with practitioner’s insight.
- Growing a movement of change agents who share best practices and professional development to bring innovation to education and improve student achievement. We collaborate with researchers, teacher leaders and curriculum experts to provide more evidence to transform learning.
- Developing skills and expertise of teaching staff. Just as professionals in medicine, architecture, and law have opportunities to learn through participating in internships and learning best practices, exemplary teacher-preparation programs allow teacher candidates the time to spend in classrooms with experienced mentors. Teacher-preparation programs provide educators-to-be with hands-on experience they’ll need once they begin their career.
- Employing universally accepted pedagogical research to create relevant and easily usable educational tools and aids for the benefit of Children, Teachers, Principals and other Stakeholders in the school. Several of our unique applications are being widely used throughout the world.
To maintain their niche and cutting edge, schools need to keep abreast with what works and what doesn’t with regard to research and innovation, adoption of best practices and enhancement of learning within the organization. We facilitate in-service professional development of school staff and administrators in accordance with the needs of the school/program. Our Good to Outstanding classroom support and Centres of Excellence provide teachers with the support, encouragement and confidence to enhance their in-class and outside-class effectiveness, through a series of personalized, objective-driven and result-oriented reflective sessions and the development of in-school repository of capabilities. To improve efficiency of learning practices and to maintain competitive advantage, schools, on a periodic basis, reassess and realign processes, mechanisms and methodologies. We assist schools in creating & streamlining work processes, including design and implementation, delivery and evaluation systems, and recording and reporting systems.

Managing Colleges and Universities
Overview
Imagine the typical institute from 10, 50 or even 100 years ago: a building divided into lecture halls, all connected with dead space of corridors and hallways. The teaching staff allocated to halls. One professor isolated in each room, struggling to find a level of teaching that is neither too high nor too low and at the same time trying to find some time for personalized tutoring for those who need it most. Students divided into groups of some 20-30, each group constituting a class unit separated from the others.
Traditionally, the equation of education starts with the building and ends with the student. That “tradition” can be turned on its head: start with the student. Not some statistical average of a student, but the individual student with all of her individual ambitions and needs. Set the goals and decide on the optimal strategies to reach them. Dedicate a professor to her as a personal learning coach, supporting the student in every step to reach her goals. Develop the material, the infrastructure and the processes supporting the learning. Design the facilities, not only for standardized teaching but for personalized learning. Leverage on all the opportunities for personalized support, real time feedback and access to best practices provided by modern technology. That is education for the 21st century. That is the philosophy followed by Venturelab for management of colleges and universities. Venturelab supports the development and improvement of educational standards and expertise in higher education across the globe to both define and exceed the expectations for a 21st century education. We believe there is no ‘one size fits all’ model for our clients’ needs but what is constant is our success rate. Our ventures express our passion for providing excellence in learning and knowledge for the next global generation.
Vision
We believe that a quality education is about Ad Vitam Paramus – ‘preparing for life’. The Venturelab approach to learning is one which focuses not only on academic excellence but also on helping students develop their character, values, personal leadership and the spirit of enterprise necessary for them achieve their full potential as global citizens.
Venturelab ‘s founding idea is that successful learning must be personalized and based on each student´s individual strengths, weaknesses, previous educational experiences and goals. This task demands a tailor-made education on an individual level. Our goal is to manage and develop institutes where every student is recognized as a unique individual with the ability, ambition and support to learn and grow beyond what she or he thought was possible.
We take on the burden of conceptualizing and standardizing materials, tools and systems, thereby freeing the institutions to customize and personalize the students´ education. When the resources of learning — time, curricula, syllabuses, premises and working tools — are geared to support the same educational concept and if these resources are designed from the best proven practices, optimal conditions are created for institutes to succeed in the task of focusing on each individual.
Methodology
Our winning formula utilises our global network of world-renowned educators and advisors in order to develop tailor-made local solutions for each of our clients. Our team members have excelled in education reform, curriculum development, teaching and learning practices, program design and evaluation. There are other consultancy companies who can advise on what to do — but they lack the delivery experience to know how it should be done. And there are delivery organisations who know how to do — but they miss the bigger picture. And then there is Venturelab.
We forge the powerful link between strategy and implementation. This embeds and sustains the necessary transformation to raise standards and extend high quality teaching and learning across a region. The Venturelab difference means that national strategy, teacher training, leadership and management and student achievement are aligned and that the system performs to optimal effect both educationally and financially.
We offer a complete and coherent system for excellent higher education. Our network allows us to achieve results for our clients by focusing on following three essential aspects of excellence:
- Educational excellence – We maintain an edge for our institutions through our Innovation Themes. For each theme, a group of our institutions is connected with an eminent advisor, to help them take their practice to the next level. These developments are fed back into our knowledge centre so that we can support our clients.
- Operational excellence – Our size and maturity allows us to provide excellent services which combine the best of business practices with a deep-rooted understanding of education. This means that all of our services, from HR to finance to institutional design and build, are highly efficient as well as highly effective.
- Client and customer service – It is our duty to provide the best for our clients. This culture flows through to the work we do for governments and various legislative bodies. Each of our clients has a dedicated account manager who is available for face-to-face meetings whenever support is needed. These managers can also always be contacted by phone or email.
An effective higher education institution focuses on the optimisation of two closely linked outcomes – student outcomes and financial performance.
To deliver these outcomes we leverage the experience and capacity from running highly successful institutes, covering three important perspectives- Academics, Operations and Customer Service (as depicted in diagram below).
Venturelab´s approach is to structure and organize the building blocks of excellence. For all key elements of the educational program, Venturelab provides developed methodology, educational material and support from our Pedagogical Development team.
All other systems in Venturelab’s management are designed to support and facilitate the educational program and the effectiveness of the educational institution — both from a pedagogical and an administrative perspective. In key areas Venturelab provides ready-to-adapt systems, manuals and support. Each area also has dedicated Venturelab specialists who provide the support to all the practitioners in our institutes. In this way, we are able to maximize our collective experience and expertise, ensuring continuous development and improvement. Every member of the Venturelab network also gets access to the collective result of all efforts in the network.
